  • Extremely Limited Edition Test Pressing
    Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Ok. I know this is expensive, but let me explain. There are only 10 copies of the test pressing. If you aren’t aware, test pressings are a short initial run of a record to make sure the metal masters they press the records from don’t have any defects before they press the full run of records. I’m keeping one for myself, am giving a few to folks who helped with the record, and the rest are here. The packaging: I (with a little help sewing the sides and top up from my wonderful mother) hand-made each of these outer bags. I bit off a bit too much here, these each took me hours. Each one is a little different than the other, and any differences or “mistakes” are part of the deal here. These are meant to be little pieces of art. I can’t believe I made as many as I did. The test pressing is in a generic sleeve with notes for approving the pressings. THESE ARE IN HAND AND SHIP NOW!
Then, the whole thing slips in an outer sleeve with the hands from the cover art covering/revealing her face. Pretty neat!
    BUT THAT’S NOT IT!
Each one of these will include a free copy of the pressed version later this year.
    BUT THAT’S STILL NOT ALL!!
These each include an extra lathe cut 7” with two songs that will not be on the pressed record. These are hand-cut in real-time. The fidelity is CLOSE to a pressed record on these 7”s, but they are not actually pressed records like the test pressings and eventual finished version of the LP you’ll be receiving later. STILL, they sound pretty dang good!
So yeah, these are pretty pricey and definitely not for everyone, but I think they’re worth it. I hope a few of you do as well.

about

life just keeps getting weirder. every day feels more important than the one before it, but i still don't do anything. i take my pills and try to hold down my emotions, then i try to feel them as i've been working on in therapy, then i convince myself i have, then i fall asleep. now it's tomorrow. but i guess its today. its pretty important. i sleep until i absolutely have to get out of bed. i go to a coffeeshop because a friend asked me to. i feel weird there, but i stay for a while and have a few drinks. we hug and i say goodbye. i go home. i get in bed. i look at my phone. i think i should meditate, but i don't. i take a spanish lesson on my phone. i go to bed. i feel ok. my bed is comfortable. now it's tomorrow. but it's today. it's pretty important.

A review:
With the release of “it stays the same from here”, Error Jordan, the artist, fulfills many of his mom’s hopes and dreams. If you’ve listened to him in any of his other iterations, this may or may not be what you’d expect. There are the requisite indecipherable mumbles as well as the sweet harmonies he is known to produce. Error Jordan has twisted both into a superb collection of extraordinarily complex tracks.

The melodies, saturated with layer upon layer of chords, lift you up and then slam you to the ground with the harshness of the lyrics. This dichotomy creates an album you will listen to over and over again as you try to get inside the artist’s mind to see exactly what he was thinking. The upbeat music of “In the Sun” contrasts sharply with the grotesque imagery of the lyrics; however, you won’t soon forget either. “Puddin Pie” renders a childhood memory into something slightly sensual while “Yella Teef” plucks at recollections of a romance long gone.

Some may find the occasional expletive offensive. As I am probably the one from whom he first heard them, I’m OK with it. What does offend me is the lack of credit for the vocals provided on “Puddin Pie”. A small line noting my vocal presence on this album would be the least he could do as well as a dedication to the person who first introduced him to the likes of Whitesnake and Foreigner! (Editor’s note: She also introduced me to The Beatles)
