Originally, the music for this track was the same guitar line from the final track, but overdriven. I thought it was pretty so I wanted to use it for something. I asked my friend Dave to write a poem for it and I gave him some simple themes. What he sent me (maybe two hours after I made the request) made me tear up at my desk at work. It was too good to use some recycled music for, so I wrote the piano line while listening to the poem on repeat. Dave recited the poem into his iPhone and sent that and some recordings of his daughter to me, which I chopped up and spread out through the track. I love this song, and 95% of that credit goes to Dave.
