This track was originally going to end the record to bookend it with the first track. Dave wrote another poem for which I asked him to shoot for about 20% more hopeful in tone. He recorded a version of it as well, but while I waited for that, I had my parents do the same as a placeholder. I ended up really loving having my mom and dad on the track, so I kept it. The music is meant to be a bit disorienting and it’s just the strings and horns from Cycles chopped up, speed manipulated and reversed at various points. A few friends felt that it worked better in the middle of the record than the end. I agreed that It’s Pretty made a better closer, so here we are.
