I wrote this on a six string ukulele by the pool at night in Sunrise Florida while my coworkers were sleeping cause they were working but I was on vacation. It was originally a cutesy upbeat song but the vibe was too close to one of the other songs (I can’t remember which now) so I changed it. This was me trying to rip off Kishi Bashi, hence the violin in the song. Funny story there, I hired a Russian violinist to play on the track, but thought what she did was boring, so I pitch shifted it up an octave and liked that better. I also like that it once again starts one of my records with Bass. Something I have done more often than not now. Lyrically, it’s about wanting to be realistic about love and our flaws.
